Saving Sally wins Fantasporto 2017 Special Jury Prize

Saving Sally wins big at the Fantasporto 2017 held at Porto, Portugal last March 04, 2017 bagging the Special Jury Prize and the Audience Award.

The international Fantasporto Jury specified that the prize for this film is due to the fact that "Saving Sally" tells "a simple love story in an imaginative and creative way".

Directed by Avid Liongoren under Rocketsheep Studio, the Filipino live-action animated film stars Rhian Ramos (Sally) and Enzo Marcos (Enzo). Written by Charlene Sawit Esguerra, the movie took 10 years to finish and ending up as one of the contenders for the 2016 Metro Manila Film Festival and is among Top 4 Earners of the festival.

The movie is about Marty, an aspiring comic book artist and his best friend Sally, a gadget inventor whom he is deeply in love with. However, Sally has a monster for parents and an inconsiderate boyfriend. In Marty’s fantasies, he must find ways to save the love of his life from the big bad world. It’s a typical love story indeed, but was told in a very colorful and imaginative way. It is a “boy likes girl who likes a douche” story but above all, will carry the viewers’ emotions with its romance, humor, character conflicts, and of course, the visuals.
